The Begining (Hong Kong)
Andrew started his carrier as a sales personal with a Hong Kong based company in the year 1990 at the age of 18. The job was alright, but he wasn’t passionate about it. He always held a passion for fashion which inspired him to start his own suit tailoring business at Hong Kong in 1992. While it took some time to find a niche, the business began to grow within a year of operation.
ZIMBABWE
A year into business was enough for Andrew to realise the potential of his product beyond the neibhourhood of Hong Kong and take his first step towards expanding it globally. With that vision, the sales and marketing teams started their operations in Zimbabwe.
ZAMBIA & NAMIBIA
Oscar begins its sales in Zambia and Namibia with an aim to shrink the gap between hi-end men suitings and the customer, bringing customers closer than ever to the suits they want, all at an affordable price.
NAIROBI
Kenya becomes Oscar's 5th international market when we start operating in Nairobi. For the next three years much stress was given towards strengthening the already established markets. Extensive range of world class fabrics sources were established. The designing, styling, stitching and customer relations teams were strenghtened. Work-shops were upgraded with state-of-the-art machineries and equipments.
SOUTH AFRICA
In the year 1994 South Africa got its independence. It was a nascent market for the world, unexplored and untested. Andrew, with an unparalleled self-belief, a willpower of commitment, rode straight into the unknown and setup a team in Johannesburg. He was soon able to set his foothold.
BOTSWANA
A decade into the business, Andrew invites his brother Sam Kapoor with a vision to scale it further. They have the perfect business partner in each other. The same year they start operation in Botswana and other South African states viz Capetown and Durban.
THE ARABIA
The brothers realise the potential of their product in the Arab land and start operating in Dubai, known for its luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and diversified culture. It proved to be a milestone, as the response was overwhelming in terms of product quality as well as the after sales service.
THE INDIAN SUB-CONTINENT
The expansion continues, and Oscar opened a new lifestyle and design store in Lucknow, India providing superior, cutting-edge bespoke and made-to-measure tailoring services with an aim to always create a style unique to the client’s personality coupled with attention to detail, fashion, style, tradition, and comfort.
